Impossible love
La Bohème—the passionate, timeless, indelible story of love among young artists in Paris—can stake its claim as the world’s most popular opera. The new Eric Ruff production will explore the deep emotional significance hidden in the trivial things—a bonnet, an old overcoat, a chance meeting with a neighbor—that make up our everyday lives.
Lorenzo Viotti will bring the drive and intensity which this opera requires. The dream cast - Selene Zanetti, Pene Pati… - will express the emotional strength of the booklet.
3. Concert version of opera - Oratorio
-
Fausto - Bertin
Théâtre des Champs-Elysées
Tuesday, 20 June 2023 19:30
Théâtre des Champs-Elysées
French opera composer of the nineteenth-century, Louise Bertin’s work was closely tied to composer Hector Berlioz and author Victor Hugo. Her opera semiseria Fausto based on Goethe’s Faust premiered in 1830, but only saw few performances after negative reviews by those who thought a woman couldn’t compose an opera.
Thanks to the work of discoverers of the Palazetto Bru Zane, this rare opera, given in concert version, directed by Christophe Rousset will finally resonate in the hall of the Théâtre des Champs-Elysées.
