Preludes
Canadian-born Polish pianist Jan Lisiecki is a rising star. For this recital, he demonstrates how composers have shaped him in the most diverse manner, from the primal father Chopin to the virtuosic pieces of Rachmaninov, passing through the melancholic pages of Szymanowski. The ecstatic and colorful preludes of Messiaen and the biting series of Górecki also make their appearance. Bach, of course, is not absent. In the form of preludes without fugues, we hear his masterful keyboard works in a new context.
