Bruce Liu—acclaimed for the “breathtaking beauty” of his playing—joins the CBSO in the majestic Tchaikovsky First Piano Concerto. Mussorgsky’s Pictures at an Exhibition follows, unfolding an orchestral kaleidoscope of eerie scenes, ending in the splendor of the Great Gate of Kiev. The evening closes with Walton’s famed Coronation, March Orb and Sceptre.
